The Blue Lotus is the fifth volume of The Adventures of Tintin. Charged by the moderate Belgian paper Le Vingtième Siècle for its kids' enhancement Le Petit Vingtième, it was serialized week after week from August 1934 to October 1935 preceding being distributed in a gathered volume by Casterman in 1936. Proceeding with where the plot of the past story, Cigars of the Pharaoh, left off, the story recounts youthful Belgian journalist Tintin and his canine Snowy, who are welcome to China amidst the 1931 Japanese attack, where he uncovers the maneuvers of Japanese covert agents and reveals a medication pirating ring.
